Ground yourself in the unique 风土人情 of Dali, Yunnan, and explore the city’s creative landscape through the eyes of renowned designer Xie Ke, founder of YIJI Collection. Over four days, discover timeless local traditions, distinctly Dali flavors, and the work of a new generation of artists carrying local design forward — including a tour of Xie Ke's own residence.

Each night, rest at a Xie Ke-designed lakeside property.

Day One

Arrive & Settle in Dali

Arrive in Dali and transfer by private car to your accommodation — either the private villa Qing Shan 49 or Sisan Hotel, both designed by Xie Ke. Take the remainder of the afternoon to settle in and acquaint yourself with the surroundings on Erhai Lake, before a welcome dinner at the hotel.


Day Two

Xie Ke’s Dali

From Xie Ke's personal residence to a traditional farmhouse reimagined as a contemporary retreat, Day 2 is a full sensory immersion in the designer's creative world and the local traditions that shape it.


Breakfast at the villa or hotel.


Private visit to Xie Ke’s personal residence.


Guided farmers' market visit with a local chef, featuring regional ingredients and street snacks.


Arrive at Xiashankou, Xie Ke’s adaptive reuse project that transformed a traditional Bai farmhouse into a natural mineral springs spa.


Private hot springs soak, followed by afternoon tea.


Dinner featuring contemporary interpretations of Dali local cuisine.


Day Three

Dali’s Creative Landscape

Day 3 maps the spiritual foundations and creative forces reshaping Dali.


Breakfast at the villa or hotel.


Visit Wuwei Temple and experience a silent vegetarian lunch


Studio visit to Dengzhou Studio, where locally sourced driftwood, stone, and reclaimed materials are transformed into one-of-a-kind furniture pieces inspired by Yunnan's natural landscape.


Afternoon tea at Dagi Hotel, designed by renowned Dali-born architect Ba Xun, with views overlooking the Cangshan Mountains.


Visit contemporary art spaces and galleries in Huoshan designed by Ba Xun.


Lakeside farewell dinner at Sisan Hotel.


Day Four

Spiritual Blessing & Farewell

A gentle close on the Dali design journey, and blessings for the road ahead.


Breakfast at the villa or hotel.


Experience a traditional Jiama Blessing Ritual, a centuries-old Yunnan folk practice in which woodblock-printed deity images are offered as prayers for protection, prosperity, and safe travels.


Private transfer to the airport or train station.
